Welcome to my blog about the virtual life of Timo Daehlie, my avatar both living and working in secondlife®, a 3d world where you can create, build, meet&greet, trade (with even an own currency linden $) or simply said “live”. (see links on the right to their website and read more).
On this blog i will share my inworld experiences such as places of friend i visit, events and meetings i participate or updates about my stream, broadcasting on all my land in SL™. There is also a category leading to virtual mainland and estates offers, tips and some spots you really have to see. Off course, i will go back in time as well, i have been a resident almost for 3 years now and there is many from the past i am intend to publish. Keep visiting !
A brief history of my avatar …
I started this “game” more then two years ago and although quite unexperienced i immidiatly saw its futures potential and was willing to invest time in it to achieve knowledge; this kind of virtual worlds will be the future, and despite the fact it does not run as smoothly as a game on your PC, which only can and will improve in the future, the concept is brilliant.
In my first week as a newbie i explored the grid by visiting many places, mainly clubs and casino’s, i even watched, succesfully, money trees and sat on camp places to collect L$’s, before spending them at slots and games.
But as they say, people get more wise as they get older and when i got my first job as a host, ironically in a casino, i started saving them untill i was able to sign up as a premium in order to buy myself some property. A very pleasant feeling …
With land i learned to build (very addictive), built some places for myself and together with a friend a few nice stages in order to arrange virtual events on them with live perfomances : with succes ! Now with multiple incomes (trading land, hosting, creating stuff and events) it was easy to pay my tier billings and fees : the profits i invested into more land.
Nowadays i own quite a bunch of land (see my “main website” for a listing of avaialable parcels), trading and renting it, have a stream up and running, a few websites, this blog, happy (i hope) customers and have become an active & social member of the community Lindenlabs created : arranging and visiting meetings for a better grid and helping out the younger residents the same way i was helped when i had to learn. I only wish i could make rl alts to help me out inworld …
